Helping create a positive legacy in the city she loves was a major driving force for Julie Southall when seeking the next step in her career.
Hearing about Rotorua Airport’s plans to help bring Rotorua ‘back to life’ post-COVID, Julie knew its vision was right on the money - and suited her personal values too.
Julie has joined the team as the Airport’s new Commercial and Projects Manager and will focus on growing revenue streams as the Airport builds towards an exciting future.
With extensive experience and knowledge in marketing, strategy, innovation, and global exporting, Julie says her new role offers plenty of opportunities to contribute and grow the operation.
“Rotorua Airport is the gateway to Rotorua and the wider Bay of Plenty; it has so much to offer and we all have a role to play to uplift our reputation and show the rest of Aotearoa what we can do.
“I wanted to work for an organisation that has purpose and is creating a lasting legacy. When applying for this role, Rotorua Airport’s vision really resonated with me and I felt like I could make a difference.
“What my role boils down to is taking the high level ideas and aspirations of our Board, Council and leadership team, and making them a reality.”
Julie and her family moved to Hamurana during the first COVID lockdown in 2020 and they have truly felt at home in Rotorua.
“We love the outdoors, whether it’s mountainbiking, going out on the lake or skiing at Mount Ruapehu; Rotorua is a recreational paradise.
“We love Rotorua and want to see it reach its full potential.”
